How Reed Lifts went from invisible to four jobs from a single post

A skilled lift business with almost nothing online. Three months later, one post won four jobs worth £1,000 to £8,000 each. Here is what we built and why it worked.

When I started working with Reed Lifts, the business had almost no online presence. A real, skilled operation, fitting and maintaining platform lifts and stairlifts, with years of work behind it, and next to nothing online to show for it. If you searched, you did not find them. The work was good. The internet did not know they existed.

This is the gap I build into. Not “make the website prettier.” Make a business that deserves to be found, findable, and then turn the people who find it into booked work.

What we built

A complete web presence, end to end, live in 14 days:

  • A fast, modern site that ranks for what buyers actually search, with click-to-call and WhatsApp above the fold.
  • Lead capture that catches every enquiry the second someone is interested.
  • Speed-to-lead, so a new enquiry gets a reply in minutes, not at the end of the day.
  • A review engine that turns finished jobs into the proof that wins the next one.
  • A content engine: founder-led posts in Harry’s voice, going out on a steady cadence.

Harry owns all of it. The site, the domain, the content, the automations. No retainer to stay live, no hostage situation.

What happened

The content engine is where it got loud. One founder-led post did the thing every business owner hopes for and rarely sees. It won four direct jobs, each worth between £1,000 and £8,000. From one post.

Since then the content has reached 14,134 people across 75,984 impressions, up 334% over 90 days. For a business that was effectively invisible three months earlier, that is a total turnaround.

One line from Harry’s top-performing post stuck with me, because it says more than any metric:

Eight calls this week from other lift companies. Not customers. Other engineers.

When your competitors start calling to ask how you are suddenly everywhere, you have stopped being the best-kept secret in your trade. You have become the obvious choice.

Why it worked

It was not one clever thing. It was the system. Content put Reed in front of people who were not searching yet. The site caught them when they landed. Speed-to-lead won the ones who were ready. Reviews fed the ranking so more people found them next month. Each piece makes the next one work harder. That is the loop, and the loop is what compounds.

Sam’s my man in the chair. Web, content, AI, the lot.

The takeaway for your business

Reed Lifts was not a marketing problem. It was a visibility problem, and visibility is the one thing you can actually build. If the right people cannot see work that is genuinely good, the fix is not to get better at the work. It is to get found, get the enquiry, and reply before anyone else does.
